SMS Terms & Messaging Policy
Last updated: April 27, 2026
1. Program Description
VigilDesk LLC ("VigilDesk", "we", "us") operates an AI-powered phone answering service for small home-services businesses such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and roofing contractors. When a customer calls one of our client businesses, our AI receptionist may send the customer transactional SMS messages on behalf of that business, including appointment confirmations, appointment reminders, and follow-up confirmations.
All program messages are transactional and informational only. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS through this program.
2. How You Opt In
You opt in to receive SMS messages by either:
- Verbally consenting during an inbound phone call to a VigilDesk-powered business line. Our AI agent will explicitly ask: "Can I send you a text confirmation of this appointment?" Your verbal "yes" is recorded and time-stamped in our system.
- Submitting your phone number through a written booking form on a VigilDesk client's website that includes a clear SMS opt-in checkbox.
Consent to receive SMS is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services from a VigilDesk client business.
3. Types of Messages You Will Receive
- Appointment confirmation: Sent immediately after you book, including business name, date, time, and service address.
- Appointment reminder (optional): Sent 24 hours and/or 2 hours before your scheduled appointment.
- Technician on-the-way notice: Sent when the technician departs for your address.
- Follow-up: A single message after job completion confirming work was done.
4. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies by appointment activity. Most customers receive between 2 and 6 messages per appointment booking. We do not send recurring messages outside the context of an active booking.
5. Costs
Message and data rates may apply.
VigilDesk does not charge you any fee to receive these messages. However, your wireless carrier may charge you for sending or receiving SMS messages, depending on your mobile plan. Contact your carrier for details about your plan's text messaging rates.
6. How to Opt Out
You can cancel SMS messages from VigilDesk at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us.
After you reply STOP, you will receive a single confirmation message and then no further messages from that program. To re-subscribe, simply book another appointment with the business and provide verbal consent again, or reply START or UNSTOP to the most recent message.
7. How to Get Help
Reply HELP to any message to receive instructions and our contact information. You can also email us anytime at [email protected].
8. Supported Carriers
The VigilDesk SMS program is supported by major US wireless carriers including AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Boost Mobile, MetroPCS, Virgin Mobile, Cricket, and most other carriers operating in the United States.
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. T-Mobile is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
9. Privacy
We collect, use, and store your mobile phone number and message contents in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not sell or share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes. We will never share your number with unaffiliated third parties without your consent except where required by law.
10. Eligibility
